THE MAKING OF A CHIEF (formerly Women of the Falls) is a New York Foundation for the Arts sponsored project.

It has received grants from the New York State Council on the Arts, as well as from the Peter S. Reed Foundation and from the New York Foundation for the Arts.

The project is closely affiliated with and has received grants from Angel Conservation Corporation, a not-fo-profit organization whose mission is to preserve the culutral identity of indigenous peoples and their natural habitat.
